Job summary

STV is seeking a Full-Time Civil Roadway Engineer in either Franklin or Chattanooga, TN. The role offers leadership over roadway design, interaction with clients, and mentoring of junior staff within a growing transportation practice.

You will develop highway geometry, drainage, signing/striping, and utility coordination, guiding projects from schematic through PS&E to construction while maintaining quality and schedule. A TN PE license and OpenRoads/Geopak experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• TN PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• TDOT design experience preferred.
• Experience in design for highways, intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, and bike/ped facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop highway geometrics, 3D models, drainage and storm water management, signing and striping, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination.
• Plan and design from schematic through PS&E into construction following standards.
• Perform quality control checks and ensure plans meet design standards.
• Lead and mentor engineers from junior to mid-level.
• Provide construction support, plan reviews, and respond to contractor questions.
• Track project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Engage with clients and contribute to business development.
