Job summary

STV Incorporated seeks a Full-Time Civil Roadway Engineer to join our Franklin or Chattanooga, TN offices. The role demands technical leadership, guiding complex designs and mentoring junior staff while supporting public-sector projects and business development.

The candidate will develop highway geometrics, drainage, signing, and utility coordination, from schematic design through PS&E and construction, ensuring adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of related roadway engineering experience.
• TN PE licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• TDOT design experience preferred.
• Experience with highways, intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, bike/ped facilities.
• Familiarity with ORD and/or Geopak.

Responsibilities

• Develop highway geometrics, 3D models, drainage and storm water management, signing and striping, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination.
• Plan and design through PS&E and into construction.
• Perform quality control checks per procedures and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver projects and meet client needs.
• Provide guidance to junior and mid-level staff.
• Develop plan quantities, engineering estimates, and construction specifications.
• Provide construction support and respond to contractor questions.
• Track project progress, budgets, and schedules.
