Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Group Leader in Michigan to guide a team of civil and site engineers serving municipal clients. Lead projects from concept through design, manage budgets, and strengthen client relationships while ensuring safety and quality.

The role emphasizes staff development, recruiting, and cross-functional collaboration across regions to deliver pipeline, stormwater, and paving initiatives. Regular in-office presence with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Active participation in industry orgs (ASCE/AWWA/WEF).
• Experience with underground utilities and site development.
• Experience administering construction contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, planning, and management of civil and site design projects for municipal clients.
• Manage teams performing underground utility and site design, cost estimating, and reports.
• Develop and expand client relationships; pursue new business opportunities.
• Deliver public presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; support marketing.
• Coordinate staffing with operations management and balance labor forecasts.
• Ensure technical accuracy and adherence to engineering standards across reports and designs.
• Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical challenges, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Meet financial goals for backlog, utilization, and invoicing.
• Lead and support business development, including proposals, scope writing, and pricing.
• Serve as SME in underground utilities and site development.
