Job summary

Workforce Recruiter in Nashville seeks a Senior Civil Estimator to lead our Civil Precon Department. You will oversee, approve and present competitive cost estimates for paving projects, directly impacting our ability to win work and execute on projects.

Your expertise will guide preconstruction strategies, mentor junior estimators, and drive process improvements across estimating templates and tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in civil projects.
• Proven track record estimating excavation, paving, grading, etc.
• Proficient software: Excel, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win, AGTEK preferred.
• Excellent communication, business development and negotiation skills.
• Urgency in submitting complete bids on time.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and specs to prepare detailed estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private projects.
• Identify labor, materials and time requirements from plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings/site visits when needed.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain cost data and develop estimating tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and drive process improvements.
