Job summary

Key People is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to lead the Nashville civil preconstruction team. The role oversees, approves, and presents competitive cost estimates for paving projects and helps win work by guiding the bid process and providing value engineering.

You will mentor junior estimators, maintain cost data, and drive process improvements across the preconstruction department. This on-site role requires strong communication and project leadership in a dynamic Civil Construction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil industry.
• Proven track record of estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, paving, grading, etc).
• Proficient in software including Excel, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win, AGTEK (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Lead bid processes for public and private sector projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.
