The Judge Group seeks a Sr. Construction Estimator in Houston, TX, to develop accurate cost estimates for large industrial projects.

You will lead takeoffs, pricing, and schedule development for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes, with a focus on piping and mechanical systems. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction, strong knowledge of P&IDs, isometrics, and civil/structural methods, and experience with EPC or design-build delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of industry experience.
• 10+ years estimating experience in industrial construction.
• Experience with midstream/downstream Oil & Gas projects.
• Knowledge of civil and structural construction methods.
• EPC or design-build delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes, with emphasis on piping and mechanical systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price using Trimble Accubid and Excel.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with project teams to validate assumptions and execution plans.
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals.
• Develop construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for scope alignment.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support bid reviews, estimate reconciliations, and post-bid handoffs.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost data.

Salary: $145,000.00 USD Annually - $165,000.00 USD Annually

Sr. Construction Estimator

The Sr. Construction Estimator role will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates (mechanical & civil) for EPC and design-build projects. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial construction methods, material takeoffs, labor productivity, and cost controls. This position will be involved in the engineering, design, procurement, construction and support services to the chemical, petrochemical, pipeline, oil & gas, bulk storage and terminal industries nationally.

Location : Houston, Texas

Compensation : $145,000 - $165,000 base salary + Bonus.

Job Description

Qualifications Seeking

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. OR 10 years experience in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction, with a strong focus on mechanical/piping scopes
• Proven experience estimating midstream and downstream Oil & Gas projects (terminals, plants, pipelines, facilities)
• Strong working knowledge of civil and structural construction methods and cost drivers
• Advanced proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, civil drawings, and structural plans
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience supporting EPC or design-build project delivery models, preferred
• Minimal travel for pre-bid site visits.
