Job summary

ESP Group in Raleigh, NC seeks a Civil Engineering - Land Development Market Leader to drive growth, lead a multi-disciplinary team, and manage business development with clients and authorities. The role reports to the Engineering Director and focuses on strategy, budget adherence, and staff development.

You will oversee design, project management, and coordination with sub-consultants and clients across commercial, residential, and public projects, ensuring quality control and timely

Qualifications

• BSCE or related engineering degree.
• PE Registration in North Carolina.
• 15+ years of professional engineering design and project management experience.
• Strong client relationships and ability to grow client base.
• Excellent financial management skills.
• Experience in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments with tight deadlines.
• Background in land development, site planning, grading design and construction documents.
• Ability to coordinate tasks with other ESP Group Managers, engineers, surveyors and planners.
• Prior mentoring of project managers and design staff.
• Experience with review agency codes, standards and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead business planning, marketing, and fulfillment of the firm’s strategy in Raleigh and surrounding markets.
• Manage design development, contract documents, cost opinions, and coordination with authorities.
• Oversee project proposals, contracts, scheduling, budgets, and monthly invoicing.
• Promote client satisfaction through clear communication and designs meeting budgets and timelines.
• Mentor staff and drive growth of the department.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
