Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineering leader to guide land development in Raleigh, NC. You will drive strategy, market penetration, and team development while coordinating with clients, engineers, and sub-consultants to meet project goals.

You will report to the Engineering Director and lead planning, marketing, and financial performance, supporting the Community Infrastructure Business Unit from an overall perspective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or related engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in North Carolina.
• 15+ years of professional engineering design and project management experience.
• Strong client relationships and ability to grow client base.
• Excellent financial management skills.
• Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong background in land development, site planning, grading design and construction documents.
• Ability to coordinate tasks with other ESP Group Managers, engineers, surveyors and planners.
• Prior mentoring of project managers and engineers-in-training.
• Experience with QA/QC programs and design software understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development to grow ESP's Raleigh market and coordinate with corporate business development.
• Direct engineering team leadership, mentoring staff and strategic department growth.
• Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and designs that meet budget/time goals.
• Oversee proposals, contracts, scheduling, budgets, and monthly invoicing.
• Interact with staff, clients, authorities having jurisdiction and the public in a professional manner.
• Oversee design development, contract documents, cost estimates, and agency correspondence.
• Quality control oversight of construction document preparation and design.
• Coordinate permitting submittals with authorities having jurisdiction.
