Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of design experience to join the Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This is not a remote position and you will work on water transmission and distribution, pump stations, and treatment facilities.

You will manage tasks, coordinate with clients and staff, and help lead projects while pursuing a Professional Engineer license within 12 months where possible.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Municipal eng design experience incl. pumps, pipelines, water/wastewater facilities.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling tools (WaterGEMS/SewerGEMS/InfoWater).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations and treatment facilities.
• Manage project tasks, design, permitting, and coordination with contractors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external clients.
• Maintain high-quality plans and check the work of others.
• Create work plans and manage budgets and schedules.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to meet requirements.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and deadlines.
• Build internal and external professional relationships.
