Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex civil work within water and wastewater projects. The role includes guiding the civil team, coordinating with partners, and managing scope, schedule, and budget while mentoring junior staff.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in civil engineering, a P.E. license, and experience with regulatory compliance and design delivery across projects, including site investigations and BIM planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Candidate should have a P.E. license or be pursuing.
• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience.
• Experience with water/wastewater projects and SMS framework is preferred.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and prepare civil engineering plans, specs, and reports for projects.
• Maintain project management, quality, BIM, risk, and design logs.
• Ensure compliance with codes and permits.
• Supervise site investigations and subsurface utility engineering.
• Oversee geotechnical and survey subconsultants' work.
• Review deliverables for scope and care standards.
• Lead construction phase services including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Estimate costs and support scheduling for design and construction.
• Mentor less experienced team members.
• Provide level-of-effort and schedule estimates for civil elements.
