Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support water-related projects for a diverse client base in the United States. The role emphasizes conveyance with site/civil design experience, capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and working independently.

The candidate should have a strong background in water systems design, be willing to mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical leadership through papers and conferences. Domestic/international travel is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
• EIT or FE exam within 18 months of hire/promotion/transfer.
• 5 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for water/wastewater facilities, pipelines and pump stations.
• Ensure designs comply with state and local regulations.
• Conduct site visits, field reviews, and technical studies to verify design requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and share design knowledge with the team.
• Collaborate with sales and client service teams to prepare proposals in response to RFps.
