A Day in the Life of a Senior Civil Engineer

You will lead and support interdisciplinary teams on multimodal transportation infrastructure projects, ranging from urban roadway reconstructions to rural trail enhancements. You will utilize AutoCAD or MicroStation for project production, develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, and mentor colleagues to ensure high-quality outputs. Your role involves coordinating complex processes, engaging with stakeholders, and participating in cross-divisional meetings. We provide comprehensive training to develop your project management skills and support your career growth.

You will also develop business relationships with clients and contribute to business development efforts regionally and nationally. The work can be challenging but rewarding, with a passionate team dedicated to community service.

Work Schedule

This full-time role typically involves a 40-hour workweek with flexibility, including the option to work remotely two days per week. Our Atlanta office is located in Inman Park near the Beltline, accessible by foot, bike, and transit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or related field
• Professional Engineering license
• 10+ years of experience in roadway or highway construction documents
• 5+ years in project or design management with progressive responsibility
• Broad civil engineering knowledge, including grading, drainage, 3D modeling, geometric design, and accessible public spaces
• Experience with transportation and local agency design documents, including GDOT PDP
• Leadership in multidisciplinary teams, utility coordination, and street lighting and traffic signals
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and Civil 3D or OpenRoads
• Experience reviewing construction plans and developing estimates and specifications
• Interest in multimodal and active transportation design for diverse users
