Job summary

Stratus is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer in Wilkesboro or Charlotte, NC to focus on design work, document prep, specifications and cost estimates for residential and commercial projects. You will work across site layouts, grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology, with some stormwater/water quality considerations.

The role requires 8–15 years of engineering consulting experience, a B.S. in civil engineering, and a Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

8-15 years of engineering consulting experience.
PE license required.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydraflow, or equivalent hydrology software.
Project experience with Residential and commercial development, site layout, grading and drainage, hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater/water quality; Water and sewer, and permitting.

Responsibilities

Manage project design, including technical quality, people, process, cost, and schedule
Collaborate with engineering/architecture disciplines on complex projects
Supervise and/or prepare design documents, specifications, and cost estimates
Detailed design engineering and QA/QC checks
Prepare studies and reports
Site investigations and construction administration
Identify and manage client deliverables and expectations
Permitting and coordination with federal, state, and local municipalities.
Communicate with a high level of professionalism with clients, sub-consultants, and office staff
