Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer for its Wilkesboro or Charlotte, NC office.

You will lead design work, document prep, specifications, and cost estimates for residential and commercial projects, focusing on site layouts, grading, drainage, hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater/water quality. The position requires 8–15 years of civil engineering consulting, a BS in civil engineering, and a PE license, with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrology software.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years of engineering consulting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydraflow, or equivalent hydrology software.
• Experience with residential and commercial development, site layouts, grading and drainage, hydraulics, hydrology, and stormwater/water quality.
• Water and sewer, and permitting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage project design, including technical quality, people, process, cost, and schedule
• Collaborate with engineering/architecture disciplines on complex projects
• Supervise and/or prepare design documents, specifications, and cost estimates
• Detailed design engineering and QA/QC checks
• Prepare studies and reports

• Identify and manage client deliverables and expectations
• Permitting and coordination with federal, state, and local municipalities.
• Communicate with a high level of professionalism with clients, sub-consultants, and office staff

The Role

Stratus is hiring a Sr. Civil Engineer for our Wilkesboro or Charlotte, NC office. This role will be focused on design work, document prep, specifications and cost estimates. The position will focus on projects in the residential and commercial industry, specifically on site layouts, grading and drainage, hydraulics, hydrology and some stormwater/water.
