Job summary

The City of Gunnison Public Works is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to plan, design, and implement major capital improvements across streets, utilities, and drainage. You will collaborate with consultants, contractors and City staff to move projects from planning through construction with a focus on accessibility and safety.

Candidates must hold a PE license and have a civil engineering degree, with Colorado licensure achievable within six months and at least four years of municipal experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in any U.S. state, with Colorado licensure within six months of hire.
• Four years of municipal engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage roadway infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with City staff, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Lead program management of capital improvement projects.
• Ensure ADA accessibility and multimodal safety improvements.
• Oversee contract documents, design, and construction phases.
