Job summary

Clearfield City is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead engineering projects from planning through construction, manage design reviews, permitting, and inspections, and serve as project manager for capital improvements.

This exempt, full-time role requires ABET-accredited degree, 4 years of experience, Utah PE preferred, and duties include stormwater MS4 program oversight, GIS administration, field inspections, and coordination with contractors and City staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• Four years of progressively responsible professional civil engineering experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver License.
• Must obtain RSI certification within six months of hire.
• Must possess a PE license in Utah, or obtain licensure within twelve months of hire.
• Drinking Water Operator Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager or lead for engineering projects and manage design, permitting, and construction inspection.
• Oversee MS4 permit program and stormwater compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Develop and maintain GIS with ESRI ArcGIS and related data.
• Coordinate with contractors and consultants; monitor costs, budgets, and schedules.
• Prepare reports, cost estimates, and presentations for City Council and staff.
• Perform field reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
