Job summary

The City of Pasco is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead planning, design, and construction of capital improvement projects within the Public Works Department. You will oversee engineers and technicians, manage budgets, and ensure projects meet required standards.

Requirements include a PE license (or reciprocity within six months) and seven years of engineering experience, plus a WA driver’s license. This is a full-time, on-site position with City benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible engineering experience (four at the professional level) in water/wastewater utilities, transportation/traffic, or overall design and contract administration.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license; Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or reciprocity to be obtained within six months.
• Previous public works and public agency project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage planning, funding, design and construction of Capital Improvement Projects and the implementation of Public Works Standards on all projects under the Public Works Department.
• Manage assigned projects and supervise professional and technical engineering personnel to prepare complex engineering designs, plans, specifications and reports.
• Responsibilities may include transportation/traffic, utilities, facilities and/or parks.
