Job summary

The City of Tukwila is seeking an experienced civil engineer to plan, coordinate, and direct design and construction of utilities infrastructure, floodplain management, and salmon habitat restoration projects.

You will lead project managers, ensure adherence to APWA/WSDOT guidelines, and contribute to long-range plans and standards. This full-time role requires WA PE licensure, ABET degree, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and six years related experience, including two years of supervisory responsibility and two years as a licensed professional civil engineer.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) within the State of Washington is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the City’s six-year Capital Improvement Program.
• Manage and deliver projects and programs per Capital Project Management System.
• Coach, mentor, train, supervise assigned project managers to ensure team success.
• Ensure adherence to APWA Construction Specifications and WSDOT guidelines.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to evaluate utility system improvements and replacement priorities.
