Job summary

The City of Rialto is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead public infrastructure projects from concept through construction. A PE license is not required, enabling experienced engineers with strong project management to advance their careers.

Reporting to the City Engineer, you will mentor staff, oversee consultants, and shape Rialto's long-term capital investment strategy while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence across major projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including two years managing engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex public infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
• Mentor staff, manage consultants, and help shape the City's capital investment strategy.
• Deliver approximately $120 million in active CIP projects and coordinate engineering review for planning and building projects.
• Develop and implement the City's Five-Year CIP; strengthen project management practices and oversight.
• Prioritize quality, schedule, budget, and stakeholder alignment across projects.
