Job summary

The City of Rialto seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead major municipal capital improvement projects, reporting to the City Engineer. This role focuses on managing complex infrastructure programs, mentoring staff, and overseeing consultants to advance the City’s capital investment strategy.

With a strong emphasis on planning through closeout, the engineer will ensure quality, schedule, and budget while coordinating with Planning and Building. CA PE is desired but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering.
• Four years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience, including at least two years managing engineering projects.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in California is desired, not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex public infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
• Mentor staff, manage consultants, and help shape the City's long-term capital investment strategy.
• Deliver approximately $120 million in active CIP projects and oversee construction engineering and inspections.
