Job summary

Stantec's New York City office seeks a Senior Civil Engineer with a minimum of 15 years of engineering design experience to lead the pursuit and delivery of urban infrastructure projects in the New York Metropolitan area.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client meetings, financial and schedule management, and mentoring of junior staff, with opportunities for growth into leadership positions within Stantec.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (New York State preferred or able to obtain within 6 months of start date).
• Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage multiple projects as Project Manager/Technical Lead/Task Manager for civil infrastructure.
• Plan, organize, and manage production of deliverables to ensure on-time, within-budget results.
• Lead project coordination meetings with clients, agencies, and internal disciplines.
• Serve as point of contact to obtain requirements and approvals from clients and agencies.
• Conduct QA/QC on own projects and peers.
• Manage and monitor schedule and budget performance of assigned projects.
• Supervise staff and mentor developing professionals.
• Review team work and provide technical guidance on design approaches.
• Develop positive relations with existing and prospective clients.
• Create proposal documentation including project scope, budgets, and design approach.
• Manage scope and deliverables with internal/disciplines and subconsultants.
• Coordinate and develop proposal graphics illustrating technical scope.
