The Lane Group in Galax, VA seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead our engineering practice, ensuring technical excellence and strategic growth. You will guide complex transportation projects, engage clients, and mentor staff, aligning with regional goals.

In this senior role, you will drive project leadership, supervise engineers, and collaborate with leadership on growth initiatives, while maintaining high standards and long-term client relationships across Virginia.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams on complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in engineering deliverables.
• Proven ability to manage timelines and multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level oversight and technical direction on transportation projects.
• Act as Engineer of Record where appropriate and ensure standards compliance.
• Review designs, calculations, plans, specs, and other deliverables.
• Mentor senior engineers, PMs, and emerging leaders.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Support strategic pursuits, proposals, and client interviews.
• Grow long-term client relationships across Virginia and nearby regions.
• Collaborate on growth initiatives and integration efforts with leadership.
• Contribute to operational planning, financial performance, and resource management.
• Identify opportunities to expand services, markets, and delivery methods.
