Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead and sign off on complex engineering designs, including hydraulics, water systems, and stormwater infrastructure, with a focus on regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
• PE license with 7 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and sign off on basic to highly complex engineering designs including site layout, grading, hydraulics and hydrology, water distribution and collection systems.
• Review draft designs for regulatory compliance and adherence to firm policies.
• Perform site reviews and studies to align designs with location specifications.
• Develop technical design documentation and white papers; publish drafts and collaborate with sales for proposals (RFPs).
• Mentor junior staff and potentially supervise engineers on projects.
• Engage with clients, attend conferences, and support business development efforts.
