Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced engineer to design and sign off on complex water, drainage and infrastructure projects. You will work on site layout, hydraulics and storage systems, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Travel 20–40% may be required; mentoring junior staff and contributing to technical papers are key parts of the role. A PE license and a strong background in design are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering; PE licensure.
• Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and supervise engineers.
• Experience with site grading, hydraulics, water systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review draft designs for compliance with regulations.
• Lead and supervise design work and provide guidance.
• Collaborate with sales to create proposals in response to RFPs.
• Attend conferences to increase visibility of firm’s products/services.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
