Job summary

TerraFirma is redefining civil infrastructure in Austin, TX, by embedding automation into the design and construction process. We seek a Senior Civil Engineer who will own civil design decisions end to end, stamp drawings, and drive smarter, cheaper building methods for our automated equipment.

You will work closely with clients and internal teams to shape scope, perform value engineering, and ensure high-quality, scalable civil solutions for complex projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active PE license.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience with ownership of designs end to end.
• Hands-on earthwork design and grading experience on real projects.
• Proven value engineering with cost savings.

Responsibilities

• Own civil engineering design decisions end to end for TerraFirma projects.
• Create and review site designs and grading plans to minimize revisions.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce cost.
• Translate design intent into execution plans for automated equipment.
• Mentor junior engineers on detailed modeling and analysis.
• Collaborate with customers to shape scope and resolve design challenges.
• Help define design quality, speed, and cost as the company scales.
• Support permitting, compliance, and coordination with authorities.
