Job summary

TerraFirma in Austin is seeking an experienced EHS leader to build our safety program from the ground up. You’ll establish policies, processes, and site standards for civil construction with heavy equipment, autonomous systems, excavation, grading, and welding.

You’ll drive compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and EPA regulations, train site personnel, investigate incidents, and scale the program as we expand. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in construction EHS are required; relocation to Austin is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years in environmental, health and safety within construction.
• Experience leading EHS programs and managing safety across active sites.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA regulations and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day EHS site management on fast-paced construction and deployment projects.
• Develop, implement, audit, and maintain site-level EHS programs and policies.
• Provide technical oversight for heavy equipment, excavation, grading, welding and fabrication safety.
• Educate, train, and support personnel on safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Investigate incidents and prepare root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, RCRA, DOT, and related regulations.
