Job summary

CPH in Panama City, Florida, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer, PE to lead our land development team. You will guide projects from concept to delivery, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with cross-location project engineers to ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Requirements include a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), 3+ years in land development/site design, and Florida PE or ability to obtain within six months. Proficiency in Civil 3D and ICPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• 3+ years of engineering experience with land development/site design projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain PE within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with Civil 3D and ICPR.

Department: Civil/Municipal

Location: Panama City, FL

Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 / year

Description

The Senior Civil Engineer provides technical leadership and strategic direction for land development engineering design projects, guiding teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development to successful delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring projects meet client specifications, quality standards, budget requirements, and schedule commitments. Serving as both a hands-on contributor and a mentor, this position plays a key role in advancing technical excellence and strengthening the firm’s reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus!

Duties Include

• Leads and manages the design team during the conceptual and development phases of projects.
• Develops detailed action plans and resource estimates for labor, materials, and timelines required to successfully complete projects.
• Evaluates and selects vendors based on technical competence, capabilities, resources, and financial stability.
• Monitors project progress, comparing actual performance and costs against established estimates, and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Partners with the design team to revise and refine project plans in response to challenges or changing requirements.
• Prepares and presents regular project status reports, including progress, risks, and financial updates, to senior leadership.
• Reviews and analyzes existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
• Collaborates with operations teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Coordinate with project engineers across other locations to exchange knowledge, solutions, and best practices.
• Manage a staff of junior engineers and delegate work as needed.
