Job summary

The Village of Orland Park is seeking a Senior Engineer to conduct engineering plan reviews for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments and implement transportation, storm water, and development plans in accordance with village codes and standards.

You will coordinate with county, state, and local agencies, manage capital improvement projects, prepare RFQs/RFPs/ITBs, review technical documents, and present staff reports to the Board of Trustees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET)
• PE license in Illinois required
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible engineering experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with county, state and local agencies on timely review and approval of development projects.
• Manage capital improvement projects and tracking of bonds or letters of credit.
• Prepare RFQs, RFPs and ITBs for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Review engineering reports, plans and drawings; provide written responses and updates.
• Present staff reports to the Committee of the Whole and Board of Trustees; assist in grant opportunities.
