Job summary

Matrix Service Company is seeking a Civil Senior Engineer I to lead civil/site design on industrial site development projects. You will supervise designers, interface with permitting agencies, rail operators, and utilities, and ensure timely delivery of drawings and reports.

You will prepare scopes of work, coordinate surveys, and contribute to proposals while meeting budgets and schedules. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• 6+ years related engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under deadlines.
• Detail oriented; committed to quality.
• Experience in industrial and/or commercial site development, roads/streets/highways, drainage and water/sewer systems, site grading and earthwork.
• Experience in rail layout/design and rail standards/approval processes.
• Familiar with local/state/federal permitting processes.
• Proficient in Civil engineering software (HEC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Excel, Word).
• Experience in bulk material handling and liquid terminal facilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops design concepts, prepares calculations, writes specs, and issues construction drawings.
• Interfaces with permitting agencies, rail operators, utilities and municipalities.
• Functions as Lead Engineer supervising designers and project staff; monitors budgets and schedules.
• Acts as engineer-of-record for civil/site scope.
• Prepares work scopes and coordinates surveys and subconsultants.
• Prepares technical reports and assists in proposals.
• Overtime and travel may be required.
