Job summary

Dennis Group in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to lead land development and infrastructure design for industrial food and beverage facilities. You will work within the Building Systems team, coordinating with structural engineers and architects, preparing CAD drawings, and supporting bid evaluation and construction administration.

Required are a Civil Engineering degree, 8+ years in industrial civil design, AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency, PE license, and willingness to travel up

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in civil engineer tasks involving industrial construction projects (foundation and below aspects - design land development, building pads, and infrastructure for new builds, etc.).
• 8+ years of experience in drainage, grading and utility design for industrial or commercial projects.
• 8+ years of experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed (15 days a year).
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Responsibilities

• Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment
• Performs moderate and complex design tasks, receives guidance when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria
• Design a complete project, prepares complete project documentation, including complete CAD drawings
• Performs procurement tasks such as bid list development, contractor initial contact, bid tabulation, and preliminary bid evaluation
• Has understanding of discipline specific plan elements, and how to navigate a set of drawings
• Performs construction administration tasks including complex submittal review
• Respond to RFIs
• Mid-size project primary client technical contract
• Develop site of design document
• Edits project specifications
• Develop parking lot layout that satisfies development ordinances and regulations
• Analysis and detailed design of institutional, industrial, and commercial buildings sites
• Prepare addenda documentation and narratives
• Evaluate proposals and provide recommendations for sub-consultants
• Provide specific are of expertise in site layout, storm drainage- hydraulics and hydrology, site utilities (fire protection, water distribution, pump station)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
