Job summary

The State of California is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex civil engineering projects, including design, specifications, and construction management, under PMDB guidance. Duties include creating design documents, coordinating with project teams, and mentoring junior staff.

The position offers telework up to one day per week, requires residence in California upon appointment, and is permanent, full-time with standard 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours.

Qualifications

• Senior Civil Engineer designation as minimum requirement.

Responsibilities

• Plans, performs, and directs a wide variety of difficult civil engineering work including design, specifications, and computations.
• Responsible for production of programming and design documents, coordination with other project disciplines, and management of the construction phase of difficult projects as requested by PMDB clients in accordance with PMDB policies and procedures, California Building Standards Code, and Public Contract Code.
• Acts as a lead to lower level civil engineering staff.
