Job summary

CAL FIRE is seeking a senior engineering supervisor to lead a team of engineers in designing and preparing drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide range of infrastructure projects in California.

You will direct work, evaluate proposals, and ensure technical quality across buildings, bridges, roads, and waterways while coordinating with stakeholders and delivering clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Plan work and direct a staff of engineers in the design and preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for construction or maintenance of infrastructure projects.
• Inspect existing water, sanitation, power, and telephone systems and decide what improvements or modifications are necessary; supervise the more difficult phases of the work.
• Supervise the preparation of maps, plans, charts, or diagrams and maintenance of engineering records; assist with budget preparation, purchases, cost analyses, and progress reports.
• Plan and direct field surveys and varied construction projects; inspect structures under construction or repair; prepare reports and provide recommendations on engineering problems.
