Job summary

Stantec’s Texas Community Development team seeks a Principal to lead land development and civil engineering efforts in San Antonio, Plano or Austin. The role drives future business development, growth of the Texas practice, and local leadership in delivering public and private projects.

The selected candidate will mentor staff, lead marketing, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams while reporting to the Regional Business Leader. Travel within TX is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of site civil or land development experience.
• Texas P.E. license is required.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage client engagements.
• Experience in marketing/business development and project leadership in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for external clients and overall project success.
• Lead and mentor a team of civil engineering staff.
• Lead marketing and business development for local Community Development team.
• Lead recruiting to build a strong professional staff.
• Prepare proposals and coordinate with clients and sub-consultants.
• Perform planning phase activities and assess project feasibility.
• Direct all aspects of civil engineering design including layout, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control.
• Oversee submission packages, calculations, cost estimates, schedules.
• Monitor project progress, staffing, budgets, and client communications.
• Plan and execute QA/QC for projects.
