Job summary

City of Centralia is seeking a licensed civil engineer to perform professional engineering work and manage public works projects including streets, water and sewer systems, and related facilities. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an EIT in Washington, at least three years of experience, and a valid WA driver license.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with EIT in Washington.
• Combination of training and experience acceptable per state rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs, specifications, costs and quantity estimates for public works.
• Obtain easements or permits for streets, water/sewer systems, and facilities.
• Provide engineering support to development review, hearings and planning meetings.
• Prepare RFPs and bids; review bids and consultant designs.
• Review computations, layouts and survey data for accuracy.
• Act as project engineer, research codes/regulations, prepare plans and specs.
• Coordinate bidding, construction management and contractor guidance.
• Review developer plans for compliance with standards.
• Represent City Engineer on project management issues when needed.
• Oversee automated design and GIS-related projects by staff.
• Provide engineering support for City GIS system.
