Job summary

KAL Architects, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to perform site investigations and produce detailed designs for civil systems including site utilities. You will prepare calculations, specifications, requisitions and bid analyses, coordinating with architects and engineers for a fully integrated design package.

The role requires a CA Professional Engineer licensure, 7+ years of consulting experience, and proficiency with Civil 3D / CADD / PCASE. Some travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 7 years of consulting experience with a civil design firm.
• Professional Civil Engineer licensure in California.
• Experience with Civil 3D / CADD / PCASE / civil engineering software.
• Background with public projects including Federal government / military.
• Experience with airfield pavement and road design.
• Some travel to client sites for investigations and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform site investigations and prepare calculations/drawings/design specs for civil systems including site utilities.
• Prepare calculations for systems, create specifications, requisitions, and bid analyses.

Job description

Senior Civil Engineer will perform site investigations, prepare calculations / drawings / design specifications detailing the layout and materials for all civil requirements / systems including site utility requirements such as natural gas, water, sewer, etc.
Senior Civil Engineer will prepare required calculations for systems, prepare specifications, requisitions, and bid analysis / purchase orders for the materials covered on the drawings.
Senior Civil Engineer will coordinate and provide input with the architect, structural engineer, electrical engineer, and mechanical engineer to provide a fully coordinated design package.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an American Board of Engineering Technology Accredited Engineering College / University
• Minimum of 7 years of consulting experience with a civil engineering design firm
• Professional Civil Engineer licensure in California
• Experience with Civil 3D / CADD / PCASE / Civil engineering software
• Background with Public Projects including the Federal Government / Military
• Experience with airfield pavement and road design
• Some travel to client sites for investigations and meetings
