Job summary

Dokken Engineering is seeking Senior-Level Engineers in Irvine, CA for hybrid full-time roles.You will deliver complex capital improvement projects from initial concept through construction, including feasibility studies, design, bidding, and construction support.

Ideal candidates hold a California PE license (or reciprocal) and have 10+ years of CIP experience, with strong leadership, mentoring, and client-facing communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • California PE license or ability to obtain reciprocal license within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of capital improvement project experience after graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver capital improvement projects from feasibility through construction.
  • Develop proposals and PS&E bid packages for CIP projects.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and ensure design standards compliance (Greenbook, Caltrans).
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to project teams.

We're hiring Senior-Level Engineers to work alongside our experienced Project Managers and Group Leaders. This role plays a key part in delivering projects from the earliest spark of an idea all the way through to final construction - including proposal development, feasibility studies, environmental clearance, preliminary and final design, bidding, and construction support. You will be an integral member of a highly collaborative team dedicated to delivering innovative engineering solutions for local, state, and federally funded projects. In this role, you will work alongside experienced company leaders and a talented, multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals and support staff. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, expand your technical and leadership skills, share your expertise through mentorship, and play an important role in the continued success and growth of the organization.

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain reciprocal license within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of capital improvement project experience after graduation
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Success in delivery of PS&E bid packages for capital improvement projects
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary team coordination, compilation of design and construction documents, and local agency, APWA Standards ("Greenbook"), and Caltrans design standards, specifications, practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and design software including Civil 3D, MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Commitment to delivering quality work products and superior service to clients
Physical Requirements:
  • Will sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a workday
  • Will use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a regular basis
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Work mostly indoors; occasionally work outdoors
  • Usually work near others, such as in a shared office space
  • Occasionally wear protective gear, such as a hard hat and safety vest
  • Sometimes work in noisy or distracting work environments
  • Occasionally travel to a project site by automobile and/or airplane
  • Occasionally work from a vehicle while at project sites
