Job summary

McMillen, Inc. designs and builds solutions for water resources. The Senior Civil Discipline Lead will guide large, multidisciplinary water resources programs, leading teams of staff with specialized expertise and coordinating with clients and partners across projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering background with 20+ years of experience, strong client management, and the ability to mentor leaders while navigating complex contracts and industry standards. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 20 years of civil engineering/water resources consulting experience.
• Proven ability to develop and lead multiple large project teams.
• Excellent client relationship management skills.
• Strong understanding of company operations and objectives, with the ability to communicate them to teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor future leaders within the organization.
• Exceptional negotiation, client management, and external team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee extensive water resources programs with large staffs and stakeholder coordination.
• Align staffing and training with company values, objectives, and initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior PMs on complex business and client matters.
• Execute contracts with clients, partners, vendors, and subconsultants within guidelines.
• Ensure QA/QC and risk management standards across projects.
• Serve as Project Manager on large, multidisciplinary programs.
• Lead development and delivery of major external presentations and industry events.
• Develop and nurture client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Expand client relationships to support long-term growth.
