Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Washington State with a strong background in site development, stormwater management, utility design, and earthwork/grading. You will lead projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and drive business development with clients across the public and private sectors.

The role emphasizes mentorship, proposal development, and cross‑selling our services while delivering high‑quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer licensure required with ability to be licensed in Washington State.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in site development.
• Experience collaborating with local and State agency/engineering community is a plus.
• Experience designing site development plans for permitting, bid, and construction.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations; and preparation of site or public improvement grading, stormwater management, and utility plans required.
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
• Strong project management, mentoring, and business development skills.
• Client management skills experience.
• Salary range: $145,000-$170,000

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Discipline Civil Engineer with expertise in site development, stormwater management, utility design, and earthwork/grading design. Key skills include project management, multidisciplinary coordination, and business development. Experience with local, state, or federal permitting and compliance is highly valuable.

In this role, you will lead projects as the main point of contact with clients, be a project manager and team lead, be a technical and business mentor to junior staff, and integrate into a larger team of site design engineers, water/wastewater civil engineers, and land surveyors. This position includes business development in preparing proposals and actively cross‑selling our multidiscipline services to a diverse client base. You will help grow and mentor a collaborative team, market our capabilities, and deliver high-quality engineering and consulting solutions.

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure required with ability to be licensed in Washington State
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in site development.
