Qualifications

• 10+ years of total related design experience.
• Strong emphasis on municipal utility/public works projects.
• Experience supporting City of Houston or similar municipal agencies preferred.
• Proven ability to lead/mentor technical staff.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for municipal utility and drainage design.
• MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare advanced civil design drawings for municipal water, wastewater, sanitary sewer, force mains, and storm drainage systems, including plan-and-profile sheets, details, and quantities
• Develop design deliverables using AutoCAD and Civil 3D primarily for utility, conveyance, and drainage infrastructure
• Apply City of Houston standards and IDM criteria; limited TXDOT coordination as required
• Support the preparation of plan and profile drawings informed by hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses provided by engineering staff
• Coordinate utility layouts with existing infrastructure, drainage systems, and limited roadway elements as needed
• Provide technical guidance and quality review for junior designers and drafters
• Interface with project engineers, project managers, and municipal clients to support project delivery
• Assist with constructability reviews, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and preparation of technical documents
• Maintain CAD standards, file organization, and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle
