Job summary

CIMA+ seeks a highly experienced Senior Civil Designer to lead civil design and drafting for municipal infrastructure, with advanced MicroStation and OpenRoads expertise. You will mentor junior staff and ensure high-quality, constructible drawings across projects from concept through construction.

The role offers a hybrid work model with flexible hours and opportunities to influence sustainable transportation and infrastructure design across multiple municipalities in Ontario.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive civil design experience in municipal infrastructure
• Proven ability to lead design efforts and deliver constructible drawings
• Strong knowledge of municipal standards, codes and best practices
• Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil design and drafting for municipal projects from concept to construction
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop coordinated, efficient designs
• Prepare and review detailed civil drawings, site plans and 3D models using MicroStation/OpenRoads and other tools
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and project specs; support QA/QC processes
• Provide technical support through planning, permitting, tendering, construction and close-out
• Review submittals, shop drawings and as-built drawings for design alignment
• Mentor junior designers and technologists to foster a high-performing team
