Timmons Group is seeking a talented Civil Designer or Senior Civil Designer to join our Land Development Group in Charleston, SC. You will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of land development projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values teamwork and ownership of outcomes.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, conducting QA/QC, and contributing to proposals and client communications, with opportunities to act as Project Manager on smaller projects.

Qualifications

• At least five years of civil design experience.
• Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop financial project management skills through assigned work.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, professional mindset with a focus on client success.

Responsibilities

• Direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
• Lead civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy.
• Make design decisions aligned with client goals and timelines.
• Support construction oversight and respond to inquiries.
• Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.
• Act as technical expert on projects; serve as Project Manager on smaller scope projects.
