Job summary

Bohler's Albany, NY office seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design, grading, utilities, and permitting for complex projects across the Capital District. You’ll be a trusted technical resource, collaborating with engineers and project leaders to ensure design quality, constructability, and regulatory compliance.

You’ll mentor junior staff, contribute to budgets and planning, and use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to deliver high-impact land development solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.
