Job summary

Bohler’s Melville, NY office seeks a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead site design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting. You’ll act as a technical resource across complex Long Island projects, driving design quality and compliance.

With 5+ years in land development, you’ll guide junior engineers, collaborate with clients and regulators, and contribute to budgeting and planning. A PE is a plus; EIT in progress is welcome. Base pay ranges reflect market alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years of experience in land development design and permitting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
• Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and construction requirements.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• PE license beneficial; EIT required or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and review grading, drainage, and utility plans for complex sites.
• Conduct zoning research and site feasibility analyses.
• Support project coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Review design deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Perform hydrology, stormwater, and earthwork calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software.
• Contribute to project budgeting, workload planning, and task coordination.

Pay Transparency

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience. The base pay range for this role is $95,000 – $110,000 per year.
