Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Cost Engineer for its Project Controls group. The role focuses on preparing cost estimates, constructability reviews, and early-stage planning across the Western Region and Pacific portfolio.

The position supports complex public works, heavy civil, pipelines, transportation and coastal projects, with a hybrid in-office model (3 days/week). Located in CA, Seattle, WA or Phoenix, AZ, with extensive collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional civil engineering license in a western state preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of civil/highway/marine project estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates using unit-priced and L-M-E methods.
• Perform constructability reviews and early-stage planning.
• Create cost forecasts from design concepts and schedules.
• Analyze designs to identify risks and cost-saving options.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and project managers.
• Prepare schedules aligned with cost estimates and allocate resources.
