Job summary

GHD seeks a Civil Construction Cost Engineer with 5+ years of experience to develop cost estimates across heavy civil, pipelines, transportation, treatment plants and marine projects. You will perform constructability reviews and early-stage planning in collaboration with design teams to deliver accurate budgets.

The role supports a hybrid work model from CA, Seattle, WA or Phoenix, AZ offices, using Excel, Bluebeam, and Primavera-P6 to drive robust cost estimates and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in civil, heavy civil, infrastructure, buildings or marine projects.
• Experience with estimating, construction management or design is acceptable.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical works is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimating: Develop comprehensive, detailed estimates using unit-priced and L-M-E methodologies.
• Unit Cost familiarity: Apply bid unit costs and cost indexes for estimating projects in design.
• Conceptual & Early-Stage Planning: Create high-level cost forecasts and feasibility budgets from early designs.
• Constructability Reviews: Evaluate plans to identify logistics risks and cost-saving alternatives.
• Construction Scheduling: Prepare schedules from blueprints and estimates; review others' schedules.
• Diverse Asset Coverage: Include airports, bridges, treatment plants, military infrastructure, pipelines, roadways, parks and environmental restorations.
• Coastal Infrastructure Specialization: Price marine-coastal projects like wharf repairs, headlands, dredging and beach replenishments.
• Team Integration: Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams.
