Job summary

KBA, Inc. is seeking a Civil Construction Resident Engineer in Bellevue, WA to oversee field activities, assess contractor performance, and ensure conformance with plans and specifications. The role requires a strong background in civil construction inspection and contract administration.

The candidate will coordinate with clients and agencies, manage change directives and change orders, and mentor inspection staff while upholding safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• A college degree (Bachelors in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred) or commensurate work-related experience.
• Understanding of construction methods, standards, and safety considerations; ability to read complex contract documents.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily observation of contractor activities and review Inspectors Daily Reports.
• Review verification of materials and track quantities.
• Prepare and negotiate Work Change Directives and Change Orders.
• Review and approve monthly contractor progress payments.
• Monitor contractor progress against schedule and budget.
• Resolve field conflicts with contractor and client.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to inspection staff.
• Manage contract close-out and ensure compliance with policies.
