Job summary

HNTB in Des Moines, IA is seeking a seasoned engineer/technician to contribute to complex infrastructure projects. You will verify drawings, check cross-discipline compatibility, and prepare layouts, specifications, and quantity estimates.

With 6–8 years of relevant experience (or 10 years in lieu of formal education), you will support the project management team, attend pre-construction meetings, and assist in engineering studies from concept to design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or AS with extensive relevant experience; alternative equivalent experience accepted.
• Experience in verifying drawings, cross-discipline coordination, and quantity calculations.
• Familiarity with project management and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Verifies the accuracy of drawings and cross-discipline compatibility, and checks detail and quantity calculations.
• Assists in preparing engineering studies and evaluations from concept to design with project engineer/architect.
• Attends project and pre-construction meetings and provides input to ensure policies and specifications are followed.
• Resolves technical design problems, may include field investigations or inspections and detailed design work.
• Maintains complex project plans and may develop documentation and monitoring of progress.
