Job summary

City of Port Angeles is seeking a City Engineer to lead the planning, coordination, and direction of the Public Works & Utilities Department’s engineering services. The role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and oversees design, construction, and inspection of municipal projects.

As the holder of a Professional Engineer license, you will supervise staff, manage budgets, and advise the City Council and other agencies.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS in engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer licensure is required.
• Experience in municipal utilities and supervision is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct engineering services for the department.
• Oversee design, construction, and inspection of municipal projects.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, especially for capital projects.
