Job summary

City of Glenpool seeks a Deputy City Engineer to lead the Engineering Department, directing development review, capital projects, and engineering standards while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuity of operations.

The role supports the COO/City Engineer, supervises staff, and represents the City in meetings with developers and regulators. Strong leadership and municipal engineering experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years in municipal engineering.
• Experience in development review and delivery of public infrastructure.
• Thorough knowledge of drainage, roadway, utilities, and regulatory standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PE license preferred or licensure eligible.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and evaluate the work of departmental staff.
• Review subdivision plats, civil construction plans, drainage reports, traffic studies, and utility designs.
• Ensure compliance with city codes, engineering standards, and state/federal regulations.
• Manage capital improvement program and infrastructure projects.
• Represent the City in meetings with developers, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor staff; provide daily oversight.
