Qualifications

• Experience with civil engineering principles and project management.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff, consultants, and interns performing engineering planning, design, and construction work of public works and utilities projects.
• Serves as project manager; plans, schedules, coordinates, and oversees phases of engineering work on major public works projects.
• Reviews and designs project plans and specifications; oversees permitting procedures for the Public Works Department.
• Develops, negotiates, and administers professional services contracts and ensures compliance with city specifications.
• Prepares and presents staff reports and participates in City Council meetings and public hearings.
• Maintains records, reports, and documentation for engineering projects and ensures safety compliance.
